Icarus wins the Provincials, the Redbull Crystal, The FIS world Cup and The You look Good. I'd say thats a nice start to the spring blitz. Now we just have the Telus Triple Challeng, the USSA Grand Prix, The US Open, The Canadian National Champs, The Shreducation Photo Shoot, and The WSSF in Whistler left... AKA " the spring Blitz!" Lets Start fromThe beginning. Heading to Tremblant to the Crystal Big Air we encountered 40 invited riders who handled one of the gnarliest set ups I have ever seen in all my years as a pro and a coach. A SHOT FROM THE BOTTOM WITH HARRYS MUG ON THE SCREEN. SCOT DOING HIS BLUE SCREEN WITH THE TV PRODUCERS A 30 foot high step down over a huge Jumbotron tv with petruding boxes and a massive flat bar rail that was about 25 feet in the air and when you hit it you had to gap 10 feet to get on and then fell almost 50 feet off it to a super firm landing. BALLS! Then you would finish it up over a massive illuminated Ice sculpture rainbow rail. See pictures below. SCOT WAS THE FIRST RIDER TO HIT THE BOX...5050 TO BS 3 OFF TO 40 FOOT DROP! Jezmond, Harry and Scotty killed it and 2 ended up on the Podium. Harry at the ripe age of 14 Stole the show with his stomped landings, massive back 900's and insane energy. Taking home 3000 bucks and giving his # to over 5000 people in french with the hopes of a call from a girl. All that money, all that fame all that dope riding.......no call. HARRY WITH A SOON TO BE STOMPED BS 900, NOTE THE SIZE OF THE SKI PATROL COMPARED TO THE SIZE OF THE RAIL AND JUMP....MASSIVE! THE CROWD WAS PUMPED! Harry cracked up the crowd and kept the energy high for the riders and the fans as we all struggled through the brisk temperatures of -32 and lower. Jez took home 10,000 big ones with a massive inverted backside 720 nose. HARRY AND JEZ KICKED IT IN THE WARM RIDERS TENT AND HAD A COUPLE RED BULLS WITH SOME REALLY ANNOYING HOTTIE. THE SETUP Celebration ensued and we were driving back to ONT before we knew it. Tired and cold, but super pumped on how awesome Red Bull throws an event. Thanks Red Bull. check out the action at www.redbull.ca THE CHAMPAGNE WAS FLOWING IN THE WINNERS CIRCLE. STOKED! As we were heading home Taylor " minishred " Watling was doing cab 5's and backside nines aiming to win the contest which he easily did. Apparantly our slopestle coaches know what they are doing. Also on the Podium was Kevin one of our slope coaches in First and Jez in 3rd. Diane Rudge won the womens open and concidering she had never hit rails or jumps until 3 months ago I'd say that is a pretty sweet feat to conquor. In the FIS World Cup Brad Martin took home # 1 while Jeff Batchelor took 2nd place for the second time in 3 weeks on the worlcup tour. Jeff is now ranked # 2 in the WORLD. Yep World. On sunday, and basically exhausted we hauled it over to Alpine Ski Club for the Ontario Provincial Championships where we won both Open events not to Mention a straight sweep with the Ladies. Palmer Taylor, Diane Rudge, and Kiersten Higginson had the top 3 scores of the day. Liz Baines got 3rd in the Ladies junior division. Mini Shred took home 3rd for the Novice Catagorie and Harry Gray and Scot Brown placed 1st and srd in the Open Mens with Brandon Davies popping off the Pro World Cup tour to stop by and take second. Jake Egan and Dylan Bartlett are back after thier injuries and pumped on charging it. Good to have them back on the horse again. Congrats to the whole team for a great weekend and all thier hard work and dedication. You rule!

Feb 25th 2008 After a week in Cow Town were Back. Thank fod as that place is dusty and dry and if your competing at C.O.P your usually stuck at the FOur Points on the side of the highway hating life. There were 12 athletes that attended that contest and rode thier asses off. Super stoked on everyones performance. Congrats to Calynn Irwin who qualified for the Wrld Cup this coming weekend. That make 3 of our Athletes competing in the World cup this weekend. Not bad huh? Good luck to Jeff Batchelor, Calynn Irwin and Brad Martin. Feb 23rd.
Well were her in Calgary at the Nor AM trying to score some FIS points and such. The team is riding well. Harry qualified 3rd but slammed hard in the finals. Antoine was at it aswell. We've brought together some of the country's leading talent to redesign and enhance our website. With the creative direction of Carlos Alonso and the wonderful people at Terra Nova Concepts, Inc. we've been able to bring our vision into reality by showcasing the awesome young talent that is the Icarus Shreducation Crew. Additionally, we've connected our site to www.shreducation.tv which features sneak peaks from each episode of our new Reality TV show "Shreducation". This show is being aired on The Score Network in Canada every Tuesday at 6:30PM EST. Check it out and if you like it let the Network know. We're working towards getting the show picked up in the US and Europe soon as well. Minishred being held high by the FRENDS crew. Danny, Luke, Masenutz, Shayne and Scotty. |
